Working on my Bennett 76 and was wondering what others have done with the steps around the window frame and the nozzle receiver. Do you paint or polish them or do something else?

It looks like the steps were painted but after cleaning them up it looks like they may have been plated at one time. The nozzle receiver looks like it was never painted and is just bare metal.

Drive with Care and Buy Sinclair!! I buy Sinclair globes, signs, cans, ect.

Here's before and after pictures of a Bennett 76 that I did. I polished the bezels and then masked the high points and then painted the bezels.

Pumps in 3 Pictures above were made for SOHIO [in the States].

is that why the bezels are different? i really like the 76, but not with these funky face bezels, the other bezels are more deco looking. chris

I didn't notice that before.....these bezels are different. Page 59, 2nd edition of Jack's book shows these bezels on a pump built for use by Sohio. This version of the pump has a higher value placed on it.
I agree I like the other version of the bezels with the stainless inserts.
