Please don't ask

Sellers may not request payment for the sale of an item to be paid through Paypal as a gift.

Please read and follow all the For Sale Petroliana forum Guidelines and Non-Petro For Sale forum Guidelines

Here are instructions to use "File Manager" to directly upload pictures into your posts on our Shop Talk forum. There is also a link there to resize your image to 640 x 480 so it will work properly.

Dean: Read Jim's very first post. It has most of the answers. Best thing is to post pictures. There is a tutorial for that in the shop talk forum help section. Oil and gas signs go in the for sale petrolina section and non oil and gas go down below in the for sale non-petro section. Post pictures and prices to get best results. Yhere is a values section where you can post pics and people here will help with estimates on value.

Our policy has always been that multiple posts with the similar content are not allowed. This obviously means posting the same message in the For Sale and the Online Auctions forums is just taking extra space up without adding anything for the community's good.

The bump post that moves the topic up in the chronological listing of topics is pretty much the same thing. Nothing significant added, just a post to move ahead of other members.

Additional photos and significant added information are always welcome as well as price changes and marking the item as sold.

The moderators have not put a priority on eliminating all bump posts because so many other issues need attention. When we receive complaints or when the bumping is repeated or excessive, it becomes "moderator bait" calling out for action. We have recently had to deal with multiple bumps in one topic in one day.

It all comes down to empathy and respect for the other members. By boosting up your topic, it pushes down the other topics in that forum. Practicing respect for each other is expected by everyone who participates. If the moderators feel that respect is lacking by a bumping incident, the bump post may be deleted and/or the topic locked.

I have bumped an item i had for sale before, but after waiting a few days. I find it very annoying when people bump items within the first 24 hours.

After some comments this past week, we are going to accept and encourage eBay announcements to be placed in the "For Sale or Trade Petroliana" forum OR the "online Auctions, eBay Petroliana" forum. Not both.

eBay Announcement Topics posted in the For Sale forum will be subject to the Guidelines of the For Sale forum, so no critical posts about the seller, price or condition of the item.

Such a high percentage of topics in the Online Auctions, eBay Petroliana forum are about repros and shady practices that normal legitimate auctions became lost in the traffic.
