Was wondering if anyone has seen this sign before, and if it's from the White Star Refining Company of Detroit (later part of Mobil)? It's 30" SSP. Richard

There's one listed in Oil Company Signs by Benjamin & Henderson with a picture on pg. 200. It;s listed as being fairly rare.

Richard: The photo you asked me about ran in the February 2011 issue of PCM, but the sign is not this one. Rather, it is the Staroleum Motor Oil on the star sign, hanging over the door of the building. I am attaching the photo here.

Thanks Wayne....that's the picture I was thinking of. And thanks Rod for the sign book reference......guess I need to invest in one of those books.

I have a Staroleum Motor Oil 30In. sign. one sided. It has a Pat. date on bottom either 1922 or 1926. It must be like the photo, hanging above the door.
