Looking for a decent top for a National a-62 pump, a friend of mine stripped one down many years ago, never restored it and now he can't locate the top.

By top do you mean the complete top assembly with ad glasses? Or just the top insert/lid. If it's just the lid, which version are you looking for? 1. No hole at all in it. 2. Mounting flange and hole for a globe holder. 3. Hole for a station lighter.

Why is there that extra hole and machine screw in the center of the top insert/lid?

Thanks Frank, I showed it to him but it is much to nice to sandblast and repaint.
