that pump looks like the one that has the door that slides down over the bottom to reveal the hand pump and inards

Doc it looks like a wayne 200 series slider. Hard to tell. What does the top look like and does it have the tower? Richard

YES, Richard they both have the tower...cast I believe as well as the base. Both seem to have innards, They resemble the wayne 276 in Sim's 1st book on page 308. now I just have to figure out how to retrieve them from the property which is very unlevel ground. I assume these babies are quite heavy?

They are the 270 series Doc. They need to be opened up, so we can see what the pump mechanisim look like, for a positive identification. The pump cyliders have been removed, (brass) so a bunch of the mechanisism is probably missing too. Between the two, you might be able to salvage one.

If you want to part those out, I might be interested in one of the towers. (Appologizing if this is a breach of etiquette)

Too bad for that tanker body, it looks rough. How is that rear compartment?

I would have to guess it's been sitting there for over 50+ years. Almost looks as if the front end was cut open for scraping? the rear door is still there and the compartment is in bad shape like the rest of it.

They are pretty heavy pumps. I think I would take in some tools and strip off the parts I want. The towers will be in demand, as well as the very top of the hose outlet, and the dial face assembly. Everything else is pretty common. Richard

OKAY, thru the help of some friends, these two pumps ended up at my house this morning. Here they are placed next to each other for comparison in the standing position....

Those are cool! Love the cast iron (?) tops. Hopefully someone will restore them as a set. They compliment each other. Would be a shame for them to be separated after all these years.

Gotta pull the tops down so we can see the mechanism. You should be able to disconnect the weights, I'm sure the pulleys and chains are stuck, by pulling the pins at the counterweights. Get some help, so the covers dont slide down on you.

I was kinda going by the towers but there was a Wayne 280 and a Wayne 302 that used the same type tower. Someone like db could tell you the difference but I can't.
Seems like there was a difference in pump stroke or something like that? Both are Wayne pumps tho!
