I RECENTLY PICKED UP THIS RARE PUMP AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS THE REST OF IT OR KNOW WHERE I MAY GET PARTS FOR IT. I MAY CONSIDER SELLING IT DUE TO THE RARITY OF IT BUT NOT AT THIS TIME. ANY INFORMATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Isn't that a visible attachment for an early curb pump??

I agree with Kevin, looks like an attachment. Neat looking piece, good luck on finding what you need.

I think it is the top part of a visible pump and not just an attachment. Page 172 of "The Bible" (2nd ed). The one with the light on top. I bid on a complete one on ebay years ago....unusual, slender, neat little pump. How would you attach this part to a non-visible with that big base part?....attachments just mounted on the pipes didn't they?

Not sure but I think we need the professor on this one. The inlet pipe is running up thru the center and the whole unit could have easily been attached to the top of a curb pump but I have no clue as to what one? The fact that the cylinder and its base are seperated from the mounting area and the discharge pipe comes out below the cylinder, leads me to believe that I'm right? The fact that its a 5 gallon unit, points that direction too! Now I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again, but I'd sure like to know how this was attached to a gas pump??

Mr.Wadhams is correct, it's the upper section of a GROETKEN pump. By removing the casting below cylinder base casting [4 bolts] IT can be attached to other company Curb Pumps.

I don't agree on this one cause they had one without the light on top with the decorative ball instead that was an attachment for any companies pump. If it had the light on top ever then it wouldnt have that piece on top. It does appear the same other than that but there is both versions.

I think you all may be right! As to Notchcads observation regarding the ball, I think you cannot see the ball due to the position of the light deflector in the illustration. It also appears the light is off center and I would speculate the conduit for it came out where the pipe plug is screwed in. So this would probably be an attachment. OR perhaps the light was an option that would have been ordered with the pump....Any case..... IT IS A SURVIVOR!!!!!!!!! Nice piece thanks for sharing!

That makes more sense that they would only make one unit with provisions! You're probably right. I'm gonna go find me one today and take a look!

Here is a photo of my Groetken 5gal. "attachment". This may clear this post up. I believe mine is the same one as shown, "without" the center casting as DB and others have stated. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

So it comes down to: Maybe they both have balls so everyone is right? LOL If this top and middle portion of this Groetken visible becomes available ...I'd be a player...only need a base, sheet metal, and the light, and she's complete! I would probably remove it's ball if I want it totally correct. Don...is there any bolt holes in that center embossing on the bottom were the pump pedistal would bolt to....or just the threaded hole to screw the pipe into? Jim
