I picked up a 48" pegasus mobil sign with a light box. All but one of the bulbs is there. 2 questions. One, would having the missing bulb cause a dimming in any of the others? Two, the ballast states 120v. I have it wired to a plug to test and am asuming that my 110v might be why its a little dim. Im not really good with electrical. Any help will be awesome. Thanks.

it may or may not work with one bulb(depending on the ballast and how its wired), but I'm guessing by adding the other bulb it will work just fine. 110 and 120 are considered the same for all practical purposes

If both fluorescent tubes work off of one ballast then one missing or burnt out tube will effect the other tube. If each fluorescent tube has it's own ballast then they will not effect each other.

Scrap the ballasts and the lamps. They are T-12s. Replace with T-8 ballasts and lamps, they will do better in cold and hot temps and will save you money in electricity costs. Plus, they are much lighter in weight, smaller in size(the ballast and lamps, both) and put out the same amount of light. Another added bonus is the lumen count is usually higher and the color is more white instead of yellow
You can pick up T-8 ballast and lamps at almost any hardware store....

Thanks everyone going to added that extra bulb frist and take the easy way out. It is a single ballast so that seems to be the issue.
