Guys,
I have a chance to buy an orange and black Phillips 66 shield sign. Looks to be NOS, still has paper on one side. It is dated 1940, don't know the month. I don't have the exact size, but it looks to be about 24" by 24", you guys will know the correct size. I saw it, they don't get much better. Any ideas to value? He will sell it to me, he just does not know how much he wants for it.

MY GUESS WOULD BE IT'S A 30" SHIELD. IF IT'S AS NICE AS YOU SAY....N.O.S.....ALMOST PERFECT AS DAY 1.....I DON'T KNOW IF I'D WANT TO LIST A PRICE HERE FOR FEAR THIS GUY MIGHT READ IT AND REALIZE HE HAS QUITE THE GEM.

OKAY! OKAY! I'D ASSUME A REASONABLE PRICE TO BE IN THE $1,000.00 RANGE - A COUPLE HUNDRED BUX EITHER WAY DEPENDING ON HOW DEEP YOUR POCKETS ARE. ASK HIM TO START SOMEWHERE....IF HE INSISTS YOU THROW A PRICE....START REALLY LOW LIKE @ $250. MAYBE HE'LL COME BACK WITH SOMETHING HIGHER AND THEN YOU'LL MEET IN THE MIDDLE. GOD FORBID HE KNOWS HIS STUFF AND WHAMS YOU WITH SOMETHING PHENOMINAL. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED, MR. WHEELER DEALER!

Thanks for the info Doc and DCpate. I've bought several things from him. He is an older guy and does not have a computer. Everything I've bought from him has been reasonable.

As everyone else has said start low & go up from there. If you have done business with him before he might jump at it. Good luck & keep us posted
