That is a question I honestly I can't answer... I don't wax my cans, chalk it up to being too lazy.... LOL

I have a couple containers of Zymol wax, but as I said.... too lazy.... LOL

Someone like Aaron (Olddutch), Scott Shipers, Don (5qt), and others should have the expertise to answer your question... Ask those Collectors who have magnificent can collections, those will be the ones to ask. Instead of someone like me who has a few cans.....

Can waxing, I wax mine if the paint is still there and slick.example firestone cans. The older cans that the paint has become chaulkey I don't as it just turn white goes in paint and makes them look worse.
Bobs foil is the must for rust.
Someone ask about the products that remove rust, I have tried some of them, they attack not only rust but the metal ,and they will rust back allmost overnight if you don't treat metal,so I just gave up on that idea.
I don't know if removing rust hurts cans, done right I think not. But what do I know ! Rust never sleeps! So that I sleep better I'm going to do what I can to remove.
