Folks I have this unusual looking hand pump that would have sat atop of a lubster maybe or something else? It's quite old made of cast iron except the cylinder which is sort of brassy in color (brass?), but I cannot tell what or where it came from. Name on the handle says "Goold, Shapley, Muir Co. Limited. Measures a total length of about 21-inches.

I don't believe it was used for a watering well. So...any ideas? $ Value? Thanks.

It's a water pump, for sure. I bought one just like it at an antique store awhile back have restored it. The pump cylinder is, in fact, brass. It was used for pumping water from shallow wells or from a cistern generally from inside of a farm house.

Great. Any ideas on value $ as is and restored. I thought about polishing up the brass cylinder and sandblasting the cast iron pieces for epoxy primer and paint.

Most pumps Approved for Gasoline/Kerosene use will have a UL Tag soldered on cylinder.

Photo of the water pump I restored. No real market for these. Just for 'show and tell'.
