I am assembling a Tokheim 285 and have a replacment acrlic cylinder. How do I seal it at the top and bottom? The old stuff was a hard white stuff, hard like rock. I wand to keep out moisture and bugs. Thanks

A better solution...get an old inner tube and make a gasket out of that..Works great..Warren

I have used high density foam weatherstripping from Home Depot with a peel and stick adhesive on one side. It won't absorb water and it is designed to standup to the elements. You can trim it down to fit in the groove/channel. Cheaper then buying cork gaskets. Bear in mind that cork absorbs and retains moisture.

I do what Swabby does. Only I have a piece of rubber roofing-pretty much same as an inner tube. Set the cylinder on it ,trace with a Sharpie and cut with scissors.

The old stuff was a hard white stuff, hard like rock. That stuff is litharge-glycerin cement, impervious to all liquids. IF your pump will be inside, all ya need is something to insulate the glass from the metal.
