OK Guys--Take a good look at all of the pictures! Lots of rust rot on the sheetmetal and a chunk missing out of the base. Its very difficult to tell condition on the frame and side panels, but if there is that much damage on the doors, then you know that the rest of it is pretty tough. I would be willing to bet that both computers are pretty rough and both reset levers are broken. From the back view, the tops look crooked and if one of them are damaged, you'll be calling me and I can add another $400 for a super straight top.
2 replace doors---$200
repair rust spots-$100
Maybe 1 top ------$400
base repair------$100
1 reset shaft assy-$75
Add glass---------$150
Globe holders ----$70
VR repair---------$800
And the list goes on------- and if you need to hire the bodywork done, ---wowser, you've quickly got a very, very expensive lawn ornament!
Buying a good condition original is one thing but buying a money pit is another! I think its over priced right now but will certainly go higher!

Kevin,
SHAME on you for Pushing a pump into a Rusty Grave [scrap yard]! LOL

Worst part of what ya said is NO ONE IS OFFERING TWIN 36B REPLACEMENT DOORS! Special order, then HOPE they fit.
Better look at doors again, all are rusted away on bottom.

Inner face trim missing, Center closeup strips missing [Scobie Might have them].
2 Signs look like Faded Repops!

Do you have a TOP For Sale KW?

When I first saw it, my reaction was "AAaalllllrightttt!!!" Gonna buy this one!
Then I started looking! I have rebuilt too many pumps to not realize how much work and cost is involved in this puppy! I'm going to pass!

Emailed and he said that he has had two offers. One of 5000 and then later 5500. You are right on about the cost of this work, but for a long restoration and money out little at a time, it still might be fun.

Lee--Definitely a great pump but age must be taking its toll on me, because I sure don't get excited about those labor intensive models anymore! LOL

He agreed to 4500 and would end auction but by the time got home it was already almost 5k( thanks to ebay nuckleheads bidding too much too early) so he sent money back and changed his mind:( not cool but it happens. Had somebody ready to pickup first thing this morning. Cant get them all. Oh well

So, whats not cool? The fact YOU negotiated a plan to end the auction early. THAT is whats not "cool" I outed this auction as soon as I seen it and warned the seller not to end it early...

UNTIL ebay stops LETTING people end the auctions early you have NO RIGHT to call anyone uncool or complain! It is perfectly legal for a seller to end his auction early!
I dont like it either BUT THATS the rules!

NameCalling IS against the rules!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Larry way too much time on your hands as noted in your below statement to the seller on EBay. This is why people get turned off on forums because people go out of their way to become a busy bodies even when they have no interest in purchasing the item. Clearly my statement in this thread was stating a fact not bragging? You really do get yourself wound up. This is all I have to say about that.

Q:  Please don't end the auction early. There is a guy in Florida that is bragging he had you convinced to end the auction early at 4500. Then it went beyond that price. Good for you. Check out oldgas.com you can watch the action on your pump. I would love to have it but beyond my means. It is a beauty and will make you happy. Larry Mar-18-12

When it comes to ending an auction early, it's all about GREED. I have to have it. In most cases the sellers looses money. Larry has as much right to notify the seller as you do trying to end it.

I've said it before. Don't hate the player hate the game. It's a free world. People will try to end auctions and others will try to keep them running.
Life is too short to worry about ebay and weather the auctions end or not.

I've learned that when you undercut and get something the wrong way it ends up biting you in the butt. Let him buy it early and get it for 4500 and when he receives it after it fell off the truck or both tops shattered and bases deformed he can learn a lesson. IT ALL COMES BACK AROUND. you never win in the long run and no deal is too good to be true. Period.
