I have this Kanotex globe and was wanting to know what the original color would have been on ripple body.
The color goes all the way from clear in some spots to dark orange in others.

My opinion is that Bonified's were orange, Ethyl's were red, Kanotex Regular were white or yellow and aviation were white.

This is based upon the one's that I own or have found in their original condition.

Don't touch it. Just clean it and admire it!

Yes you can take it apart & clean it but I would take out the one that is not broken.

Your body definitely looks like it was orange in the beginning. I agree with what Jim said about original color combinations but without a doubt lenses and bodies got switched about during the years. The color was originally baked on to the body. I suspect it could be removed and I know that clear bodies have been repainted. Repainted bodies have no where near the value of original colors.

I have an original kanotex and it's on a white ripple. Painting yours might make it look better but lessen the value in my opinion, at least it would for me. ;;;;;;;;;Ron
