I think like 1939 ? not real sure,,, if thats a one pound tin they usually sell for like $250-$350 , if it's a five pound tin they are like $300-$400... there semms to be lots of those around but mint full handy oilers aren't.. the mint ones used to be $1000-$1500 now they have stepped up to $2000 , must be the new guys getting into the hobby..

Wow and to put a sticker on the paint! That's the first thing I noticed as well. If I were a serious contender for bidding....I'd want to see that sticker come off perfectly before raising my paddle.

Texaco had been buying up stock of McColl-Frontenac probably since the late 1930s but the official end of the Red Indian brand was around 1947 when they introduced the change over to all Texaco brands. They were previously interconnected for quite a while. I know of one station in Edmonton that was Texas Oil Co., then Red Indian, and finally Texaco.

Very nice HO. I've been wanting to find a nice one.
1941 Texaco takes over Red Indian by becoming the majority share holder. For the next 18 years Texaco slowly merged the two operations. Effective February 2, 1959 the name McColl-Frontenac Oil Company Limited is no longer and everything is changed to Texaco Canada Ltd.
