The shields are complimentary of the state of Kansas Highway Commision. They measure 4 inches in diameter. I have been told they were used during ribbon cutting ceremonies when the highways opened. Not sure if that is true or not. $35 each shipped.

The second picture is also the same deal except the backs aren't stamped. They are $20 each shipped.

neat little samples!

the "opening ceremony" explanation would be a good reason why we've never seen a sample 66. the Kansas segment of the road was the original 20s alignment for its entire life, until the entire state was bypassed by I-44.
