Built a two story 40' bye 24' garage about 10 years ago and finally getting around to finishing the second floor for my gas stuff.
Wiring, drywall finished. Building a floor to ceiling shelf display for globes. Will be able to display 56 on the wall unit. All will be illuminated with wiring running inside the shelves. Have a wooden phone booth on the other end with 4 wall sconces to also display globes. A hassle working with stuff in the way, but no place else to put it. Hope to finish in a few weeks.

The globe display unit in progress.

The opposite end with the phone booth.

The back wall.

Looks like a cool project, Bill. Keep us up to date with photos as you go. Wish I had a space like that to fix up and display my stuff.

Your room is going to be great! I noticed the Lario sign with your pump plates. Do you know anything about this company or sign? I've had one for years and yours is the first one I've noticed.
Thanks!

That's the Jenney sign! Will get moved when the walls are finished but it will be staying in the collection.

Some progress photos. The walls are painted, the ceiling is up. Trim work and wiring and finishing on the globe shelf still to go.

The globe shelf has been finished. After much thought I used romex wire with metal junction boxes and light holders attached to the boxes. The boxes are sunk into the shelf with the wire running inside the shelf. I used 10W/40W equivalent compact flourecent bulbs. They are more expensive but last longer and don't put out the heat of regular bulbs. Decided to add heat/air which will go in next week. Then the baseboards, door/window trim and carpet.
