Just looking at the Glen Zirkle auction.Where are the Shell signs?? Is he keeping them or perhaps previously sold them??

Hey gang...Am I missing something here???...Why is the Zirkle auction being held in Illinois..???...Seems like since Glen is in our area., one would think it would be held in Or., or Wa....any comments???...Tks Warren

The reason is the auction company is commited to bringing top dollar for the consigner, and top dollar is more easily realized the closer the auction is held to the central U.S. I don't care for it but I can certainly see their point.

I wouldn't screw around with this auction anyway, nothing good in there at all,

Same sign--1920's version-note 15 "flutes" on this one,13 "flutes" on the 30's sign.Also has curved dotted line on the bottom.

Collections of this magnitude are best served by being brought to the center of the country. I think it's really smart not to have it a)in the PNW & b)in North Central Illinois where a lot of the Matthews/Aumanns have been held. Doing at Gateway, you are basically as geographically centered as you can be. In essence, St. Louis is a hard day's drive from a LOT OF PEOPLE. Or it's an easy flight for everyone.

Those shell signs look just like the east coast and west coast 15" metal frame globes, totally different for each region.......Les
