I was offered it today. Is this a repop or an original?

Ok I am starting to think this is a argentina fake sign check this completed eBay listing and look at the chips in the sign compared to the pics the person sent to me.

But the back is different on this one than on the one on eBay

I don't like any sign with the edges done like that one has. Most India repops use that technique to "age" the sign.

I did some background checking on the person who wants to sell it to me and they are legit. I dont know if they won that auction and are trying to sell it for a profit.

Arent all them signs they sell in argentina fakes?

I say fake. The rust on the back is a bright orange color and also has the counterfieter's signiture chips you know... just a few carefully placed never a real distraction JM3C's

Do I see the ghost of a rectangle on the back possibly where there was a sticker?

The bulko's have been reproduced. I received a lead on one of these couple of years ago (sign was in OKC). I was told a story about their grandfather working for Bulko in Chicago. When I put my hands on the sign, there was no doubt it was a reproduction. The damage was self inflicted or new damage that had been "aged".

I would be extremely cautious with the sign pictured......it looks VERY similar to the sign I looked at.

It is funny you mentioned that here is what they told me.
"I have an extremely rare Bulko pump plaque. Bulko or the Bulk Petrolum Corp., was an independent chain of gas stations in Chicago. It was founded in about 1918 by Joseph L Stone, Sr., my grandfather, and sold to Gulf Oil in 1963. At the time of the sale, there were about 40 stations."
