Need some help! I see this Quart in dark and a lighter orange, is one older then the other? The real old ones... gallon, grease, ect seem to be lighter. This can is the lighter orange and i was wondering if it's worth a hundred.....May have to move to the other forum! I have seen them in a wide price range. Thanks, Owen

Here is the eBay Numbers to the last couple that sold.
200737663758 brighter orange version.
260944258955 lighter orange version.
I have seen these break the $200 mark only a couple times.

Thanks for the info.....This can is full but that should make much difference, right? It's my first Oilzum item....the orange is starting to grow on me! I gave a hundred, so it's nice to see that i didn't over pay for a change!

I'm going to have to get one of those earlier cans as well. Cool graphics and the colors will lend themselves well into the Harley corner.

full sells better than empty for some reason I find most guys prefer them empty. Very few prefer full in my dealings. I drain them all by drilling to small holes in the Top.

Better to drain from bottom as then cans be displayed in a rack and the holes are not visible.
Holes in the top decrease value.

Owen congrats on adding the Oilzum can to your Collection....
I've always enjoyed Oilzum's "Oswald the Chauffeur" logo. My very first can, 50 yrs ago, is/was a Oilzum can (still have it)... Someday I hope to own a can with the "Oilzum Kid" (also known as the "Bucktooth Boy") logo on it.....

Holes in the top decrease value. If you drain from the bottom, it is always difficult to get all the Oil Residue out of the cans then the cans underneath get oily residue on the top and dust sticks to them. I know when I buy cans from others 99% of the time they are top drained. And I have bought 100's of cans over the past 7 years that I have been collecting quarts.

After draining the oil out of the can. I let the cans drain at an angle into a funnel for a day or two. I then spray some brake clean into the can and swish it around and then drain the can and let them sit on a newspaper for a day or two and then they are ready to display. Never have had a problem with them leaking onto other cans after being displayed.

Those two e-bay cans have different wording on the bottom. Mine says "America's Finest Oil"

There is one more version that I have been wanting but last time I saw it it went for well over $300. Top half is orange, bottom white with the more detailed version of the racecar driver like the all orange one and no triangle design. It must be rarer as I do not see them near as often as the all orange one

Are the cardboard Oilzum cans worth anything. I have one that looks just like the two with the driver in the orange triangle

It's newer then the Orange but they must have not used this can very long as you don't see them that often.

I have seen 3 versions of the orange can... "Motor Oil", "Pennsylvania" and "America's Finest Oil"... I don't remember seeing a qt with the top orange and bottom white... Doesn't mean there wasn't one, just means my memory sometimes isn't the best... I have a similar colored can. It has a white top and orange bottom.... Composite cans (cardboard) depending on condition... Frequently sell for between $10-$30....
