I got these stainless steel Gulf letters from a bulk plant last year. They are about 20" high. I have seen many pictures of old Gulf stations but none had these. Are they rare or were they used at a office/bulk plant?

Thanks Chris

Sign companies in the northeast would use stainless to counter the rusting issues often found with porcelain or painted metal signs. There are many signs in the eastern New York and New Jersey areas that have porcelain background and stainless letters applied.

Those stainless steel letters would have been very expensive to produce in the day. Pre CNC plasma cutters and tig welders.
