i have a friend that is restoring a 1933 tanker truck, he is restoring it as sinclar. he called and asked what year sinclair started using the dinosaur?? i take it there are probably different years for the different versions- black dino - green dino. but i told him i would ask on here to get him a time frame. he just wants to use the right year of dino to go with his 1933 truck. thanks chris

Fred Flintstone drove a DINO, in 1933 SINCLAIR would have been using a WHITE, MACK, DIAMOND T, etc. truck for deliveries !

Lets see if this helps.... http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000900.html
The 1933 maps show the "Dino"saur, as does the 1934 map. However, I think that the H-C logo, might be more appropriate. But I'm a CHEVRON guy.... Tankers.... COOL... I want one.

Chris,
Chapter nine of the book "A Great Name In Oil" has the start date as 1930. In 1932 they registered it as a trademark.

The gasoline was Sinclair Aircraft, green, HC, Pennant, Dino, Dino Supreme, Power X ect. The Oil was Opaline, Pennslyvania, DTR, Triple X ect. A tanker truck would probably be hauling gas, not oils. So it would probably be marked with an HC on the doors and the word Sinclair on the tank.
