Went to an auction this weekend and have lots of extra parts. Would like to sell them but need to know how to list on eBay through Old Gas.

You cant list through oldgas. For oldgas to get a credit, you have to list your item numbers here and the buyer (or bidder) needs to place the item number in the eBay search box at the bottom of the page, then bid. Oldgas will not get a credit with out a bid.

Best bet is to list your items, then post in the eBay section the item numbers.

Jim has helped me this question before, and sure he will chimne in if I'm wrong. I think as long as your first bid comes from here putting number in search box, credit will go to oldgas.

Hi guys,

There is a lot of info in our Shop Talk Help forum:
http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=138279

The best practice on listing an item is to list it on eBay normally, then come back to Oldgas.com and post a topic in the "Online Auctions, eBay" forum with the auction number and the auction title. You can add descriptive info and a picture to promote it. It is a win-win situation. You get free promotional exposure to people who are really interested. Oldgas.com gets a small referral commission when the auction winner or "quality bidder" found the auction from the eBay searchbox at Oldgas.com or from one of our "Right Now on eBay" link lists on the top of some Shop Talk pages.

Bidders using the searchbox to copy/paste numbers or titles and using "Right Now on eBay" links really help pay the bill here to keep this site free to use and on the Web. Thanks!

Click on the "eBay" link inside this message to see more "Right Now on eBay" links.

Bidding early in the auction sets the referral credit. You can bid again later in the traditional way, even at the last second as a sniper and the original referral should still hold the advertizing credit.

Wow I wish I knew about this. I may have missed it but is there anything on the homepage about this. If not it should be added. I've sold quite a bit and would have loved to have helped out. Well I know for the future.

Let me just say something before everyone jumps on me. I realize that the eBay listings are on the home page but there is nothing indicating that we can help the site. I was suggesting a sperate link stating "Learn how you can help OldGas.com or would that be agaist some agreement with eBay?

I put some instructions on bidding thru Oldgas.com at the top of the list of topics in the "Online Auctions, eBay" forum.

Thanks to all who take the extra effort to bid or promote auctions in a way that has the potential to help this site. Paying the bills is one less thing that I have to worry about.
