Ok kinda of stuck. Normally I don't have a hard time picking paint schemes but I am requesting a little input. I have a pair of repop marine lenses from Dwaine which look really nice with the darker green and red. My thought was to paint the front and back doors and globe red and the sides, base, metal top and faces green. Is this going to look like a big Christmas tree or will the old school colors work? Thanks for the input guys.

Honestly, I think it would look like the Christmas tree you mentioned. I try to draw a pump on paper and then copy off a few copies, and then use some color crayons to try different combos.

I think those colors could look great together.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the bezels and globe.
The globe might look better green, to keep the color flow connected, base, sides, top, globe.

Post a pic of the globe that would help give more ideas.

I am not big red and green together. I think it would look good green and white like the Marine signs. The face bezel would look good silver or even black. A lot of 36 and 36Bs came from the factry with black face bezels. The red lettering on the globe and decals will stand out better on the green and white.

Agree with Matt 100%! Green and white or green and black even always look classy and not make you think of jingling bells and mistletoe when looking at it!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Having said that, I think tastefully done red & green could look good. I always put the darker color on the body & top and the lighter color on the doors. In my opinion it gives definition and presence.

I got this green and red pump as part of a collection I bought in to order to get some real neat signs.

This is the only picture I have on my computer of the pump. If you want more pictures of it, let me know and I'll take them tomorrow.

I agree with Matt too! Green and white with black trim pieces ,kinda like the Texaco Marine sign. I still think green and red look too much like a Christmas tree.
I hope you take all of this as just opinions, because in the end, its "YOU" that has to live with it and look at it every day and it really doesn't have to please anyone else.
I don't usually give color opinions for just that reason, but you did ask, soooooo---
