Hi!

I'll try to add photos later. Annoyingly, the power button on my digital camera is broke.

Anyway, I have two five gallon Mobil containers.

One is older, labeled "Mobilgrease #2" on one side, and is in worse condition, with extensive rust on the top, above the upper ring, and disfiguring part of the Pegasus logo. It also has a couple sizable dents The best I can say for date on it is pre '55, as it doesn't have the '55-64 logo.

The other is newer, has the '55-64 logo, and is labeled "A Mobil Product". It's labeled the same on both sides, and it definitely has an 'A' side and a 'B' side, as one side has very little rust, mostly around the bottom of the can, and some chipped paint, the other side has more extensive rust and discoloration.

On the whole, I'd say the newer can is like a 3.5 on a 5 point scale, and the older can is a 2.5. Colors are very good on both. Not much fading.

Wish I had photos to post.

The older can is in about this condition: http://www.petrojoe.com/store/index.php/For-Sale/Oil-Cans-For-Sale/112

The newer can is in about this condition: http://www.creekside-antiques.com/721-6048.JPG

Any *rough* ideas what these cans would be worth--and if they'd be worth shipping to a buyer? I'm in Sioux Falls, SD.

So, no point in shipping them, then. Any swap meets/shows nearby Sioux Falls/SE SD? I don't even know if there's a local collectors club....
