A guy called me about a 3 Pc. glass Texaco globe and i was wondering what i should look for to tell if it's original, ect. I'm not a globe guy so any help would be appreciated. Like, should it be a black or white T with a glass body or did they make both. Thanks in advance, Owen ....lowright@aol.com, PM or here ..........

Could be either, and 13 1/2" diameter most likely narrow body glass or could be capco plastic body. Hard to say without a picture, Also make sure the lenses are not faded or washing out.

Black or White T's came on glass bodies....originals can be marked at the 6 o'clock position with a C or may have Hull information with a date, or not marked at all. Washing at the bottom lowers the value, as the black outer ring is prone to this weathering problem. This globe is not rare by any means so don't pay top dollar if the condition isn't there. $150 for a good glass body, and on average $125 to $150 per lens, lower end for the white T version as they are more plentiful and were the later version obviously.

It could be a gill body as Texaco used those that would increase the value.
