does the color of this can, have anything to do with any specific company? What year would it be from? Thanks

Have about 10 at work still in use today.They are used to calibrate dispensers.

These were used by both the oil jobbers and the local city or county inspectors. The inspectors used to come out to my Shell station once a year (maybe even twice a year), check each pump, and charge me $5.00 per pump for doing it.

The were used so much, I doubt any of them still have the original paint on them.

Don't remember Shell ever coming out to check the pumps.
