Today I picked up 2 standard size lubesters. One is plain with part of a Cities Service decal on it and the other is blank but does have Texaco embossed into the cylinder that sticks out of the tank. It is aluminum colored but may be pot metal. I've not seen one like it before and wondered if anyone has any information about the age, manufacturer and maybe a estimate of value or any other info would be welcome. I can take a picture of it tomorrow and post it on here if that would help.

Here's the photos of my new lubester. Can anyone tell me anything about it or perhaps a value? Thanks in advance.

I have seen one of those before. I'm guessing they date from the 30's. I think they're kind of cool, but lubesters aren't worth very much. Maybe $50-75 or so (just my opinion).

Generally speaking Lubsters are worth in the $50-$75.00 range. However, in my opinion this lubster is worth more due to "TEXACO" being cast into the housing. I know, I would pay more for it. I would place value in the $150.00-$200.00 range. Maybe even a little more if the lid is cast iron and also has something cast into it.

I have the same lubester and it was used for kerosene. Only reason I bought it was because of the embossed Texaco like yours. Wish I could have saved the original decal. I took photos and had a replacement decal made for mine. I paid $100 for mine about 10 years ago.
