I recently purchased at auction a 1949 Ford Gold Medal Award Fashion Car of the Year.
This plaque was made by Bruce Fox Company of Indiana. I know it is authentic as I sent images to the Bruce Fox Co. They verified it was made in either 1949 or 1950 and Ford is one of their customers. I assume it was given to Ford Dealerships to display.Just wondered if anyone knows how many of these were made or an estimate as to its value. It is in very good condition.

Click on "Help" at the top of this page to read about how to upload an image, so we can see it. It would be most helpful in getting a response to your question.

Is is made of wood or brass or what? It is possible that every Ford dealer may have gotten one of these.

Sorry didn't mean to be so vague. The plaque is hand worked copper on a wood plaque. The copper has raised lettering a 1949 ford car and the fashion academy seal.I was unable to add a photo but I could e-mail one if anyone would be interested.

Spoon:

This ad appeared in numerous magazines in 1949 - like Good Houskeeping.

If you can read the 'tag line' under the automobile - "Awarded the Fashion Academy Gold Medal as the "Fashion Car of the Year".

Like Jim said - probably every Ford dealer got one.

Later . . .

Jim
