If the signs average $200 and the globes $300, then he's right on the money---BUT, if you're going to try and make a few dollars or retain a few choice pieces for yourself, there has to be some margin sonewhere?
The unseen is a killer but anyone that might be serious would surely venture a trip to take a look. (I would hope!)

Yeah. I didn't wanna scroll around the pics too long and accidentally click buyitnow! But it looks like he has 88 pump plates and 12 bigger signs. And I think I'd be having those globes up off the barn floor!

Price of the signs before if it is the same auction was $10,000.00, and the globes were $30,000.00. Now we are looking at 50,000.00, where did the value come from since last year?

I agree with Kevin and DB. Probably not a bad deal when you consider the value of the signs and globes and all the expenses you will save by buying in one stop...Versus driving to 100 swap meets and car shows, or shipping that many items. They look to be in decent condition.

If I was just starting my collection, I would seriously consider such a transaction. Keyword "collection=collector", Now, it's up to you to act like a collector or a "picker=buying to resell".

If this was you selling your collection, your prices would probably be the same.

The following is just a thought and not directed at anyone in particular. And if anyone takes it personally...then that is just you judging yourself. No one knows you, better than you. Why is it? That the cheap guys with limited funds are always wanting to make fun of the guys with the good stuff? It's okay for the cheap guys to ask outrageous prices when they are peddling their junk. you need to learn....Everyone has and should have the right to set their own asking price without fear of ridicule or criticism.

I emailed and spoke with him many times before. He now has emailed me and said that the family had turned down $40,000. Everyone has an opinion and to me everyone has a good point. Wish like before I was closer, alot closer.
