Morning all! Great day today with a good rainstorm last night! I'm thankful for every day that I wake up and feel good about life!
My nephew has been battling liver problems for the last couple years and last night he received the blessing of a transplant from a deceased donor! Today is his new birthday and his outlook on life has just changed dramatically!
Hoping today finds ALL of you in good spirits and good health!
Have a great day on me!!--KEVIN

That is great news Kevin. I have a friend on a list for a donor. Very tough. Hey guys, eight more working days and Iam done as an administrator at Northern Il University after 36 yrs. Hope to get back on the road to collecting again (as I was in the 80s and 90s) and meeting new friends.

Good Morning everyone,

Another nice day here, but getting back into the 90s for the weekend. We're off today to visit some recently made friends who already seem like old friends.

Glad to hear about your nephew, Kevin. Hope all goes well for him.

Rob, you'll love retirement. Congrats.

Have a great Thursday out there in Oldgasland!

Great news about your nephew Kevin!

ZR1...I gotta break it to you. Lee either lied to you grin or he's not retired yet (LOL) but you are NOT going to have a lot of time on your hands. You will be busier than ever, but it will be stuff you want to do.

An important word to practice is "No!" as there are others, loved ones and friends, who will assume you have a lot of time and will try to load you with their projects. If these are folks that care about you, they will forgive your "no" eventually! smile

Great news Kevin, congrates Rob. Never a truer word about retirement,as I'm the go to guy for everything now. I also own truck and trailer, and yes you collect friends.
No huh,I ought to try that. Painted my way out the door at parents house about a hour ago. Then they got to talking about a tree that needed to come down. Told them I would send the tree guy by,that is probably not what they wanted to hear.
HAGD-ALL!

HEY EVERYONE!

That's great news Kevin about your nephew! Hope all goes well with that.

Our "supposed to be" sunny day turned out to be mostly cloudy. The sun is popping out now. We got a decent amount of rain yesterday....my wheelbarrow was half full of water, so I'm sure we got a couple inches which is great!

Ron enjoy your retirement.

Loyd,

As someone who used to work for a tree company, that is one of the most dangerous domestic jobs there is. Hire a tree company and make sure their insurance is up to date!

Nicole, I was down at shop that fellow use to help me with racecar, Old guy come in 72 years young, who cuts trees with bucket truck,he left and I ask friend if that was the tree trimer. He said yes,and he would kill you. Then went on to tell me the story,as he was helping neighbor out and told the wifes to stay in house, well neighbors wife walk out door just as he dropped big limb and killed her. Bad deal for sure.I layed one down years ago and it didn;t fall like planed and it tore the siding off house like you stacked it beside footer. So yes I out on this one they will have to pay the pros.
