Were there Hudson oil bottles/jars with paper decals made with the shorter fat bottles? I have found 3 for sale with three different Hudson logos. Checked Ebay and found tall bottles with paper labels but none with the short fat bottles. I know repo paper labels have been made and put on jars but just wondering if there are originals also?
The three labels are Hudson Motor Oil, Hudson LLL, and Hudson Pennslyvannia.

Not sure wish bottles you are looking at, but the one i have posted here is fake. They are all over the swap meets and easy to recognize as a turd if you had it in your hands. The embossing in the lids were hand done with a punch. No 2 lids are the same. Add a little dirty oil and a label and presto you can litter the country with a thousand of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1930-s-H...=item5ae6833162
see me at Mason Dixon Gas, Spring Carlisle M114-115, and Hershey C4E-35.

The bottles I saw are the shorter ones that are more like a jar than a bottle. I figured they were phoney but they do have the seals on the lid with the oil weight.

These used to show up on E-Bay fairly frequently a couple of years ago. It seemed like every time I saw them for sale, they were the same three Hudson variations as you mentioned. The fact they they would always show up in groups of three made me sceptical of their authenticity. I have never seen any in person to get a good look at the quality of the labels. Also, I would caution using the seal on the lid as an indicator of originality as I have seen these being reproduced as well.
Always looking for: Early Oil and Auto Cans, Kenyon Tire Signs or Displays, Stutz Motor Car Company Items.
