Having a problem, hoping someone has a solution....On the whith cloth hoses I use for restoring visables, am finding nearly every one I get, the ends just pull right out. Have tried to use clear silicone to hold them in, but to no avail. Spoke with Seth at Vics, and he states the people that makes all the hoses are aware of the problem and does not have an answer or fix. Anyone out there have a solution for keeping the ends fromn pulling out?..Tks Warren

I have not encountered this problem with mine, but if I did I would probably drill a small hole in the metal part and put a small screw into the rubber for support. Mike

Here is a response from Seth at Vic's (Accidentally deleted by me. Sorry!)
Warren....as a correction to your post, I stated that the manufacturer had been made aware of the situation, but as of yet had not made any fundamental changes. This is not to say that as time goes on, the problem won't be corrected. Also, as we talked about on the phone, in 3 years of my ownership of the company, you were the first person that has brought this to my attention. I have been through more than 100 white cloth hoses in the first quarter and everyone else's have been fine, at least I've not been told otherwise. Seth, Vic's 66

I also have had a white cloth hose thats not exactly up to par on the quality on the ends.I have two hoses, ones skinny in diameter, thats the one with lose ends, the second is much thicker and appears to be much nicer.I'm not sure who makes which one,and I'm not trying to bash anyone, but there not exactly cheap so I would hope they hold up,and not have the hose fall off.

Warren, Since my earlier post was deleted, I'll rephrase it... I have been making white cloth hoses with smooth brass ends which are internally expanded since the early 1980's. I'm positive that the hose(s) in question were not made by me! I would encourage you to shop around and compare quality and price. Ron Scobie http://www.gaspump.com

Warren & anyone else who buys parts from my catalog knows that an unsatisfactory part can be returned within 4 weeks of invoice date for a refund. In this case, because of a time crunch, Warren made these work, which will not be forgotten by me. Again, 3 in a batch of 100 (that I know about). Thanks for your business Swabby..... I will say I have dealt with Ron and Seth... to stand up guys.
I will add I have bought parts from other vendors... not the vendors that participate on this site... that were just junk. It is amazing that because something is $35 and 1 $45 how much better the $45 was. If I would have had both in front of me and the $35 one was $10 I still would have bought the $45 one. Just remember don't buy it because it's cheaper... there could be a reason why it's cheaper.
Thanks Seth and Ron for helping out the site with your pump replacement parts.

Thanks for the comments Jarvis. Just a reminder that price is not always a reflection of quality. In my case I have no color catalog, no store front, no employees and don't 'need' the income to survive. I paid my 'dues' by teaching high school science for 32 years. My goal has always been to provide quality parts at an affordable price. Ron

I too am appreciative of your kind comments John. There are many different people in this hobby/business with many different goals. Mine is to build a long-running successful business that can sustain myself and my 4 children for a long-time. We all are at different stations of life with different plans & business models, but there is room for everyone to exist successfully & respectfully. I won't mock anyone for the way they operate and hope this board can continue to be a friendly place to meet & discuss. Seth/Vic's '66' www.vicsplace.com

Ron Scobie has manufactured three of my cloth hoses. They not only look great, but are well anchored. Two more hoses are expected in the mail tomorrow. That should give you an idea of what I think of the quality.
