Matthews Auctions is the most respected petroliana auction company. No worries about getting serious.

First thought is that you're joking? Right? But then common sense kicks in and I realize that not every collector knows Dan Matthews! He's one of the larger gas & Oil collectibles auctioneers and experts in the industry and is highly regarded by most everyone in the industry!
YES--you can trust his website AND the man himself!

The internet can be very risky with all of the unmarked reproductions out there, so when in doubt--post a picture here on Old Gas and we'll do our best to give an honest opinion.
Another tip is the overseas sellers--BE VERY CAREFUL AS MOST ARE BOGUS!

I agree, class act and honest all the way. Plus, he likes cold beer too.

Thanks, Phil

Dan is great guy ,with a big auction (petro) coming up he went the extra mile to hook me up with a auction house that helped auction some guns I had that I wanted to part with. Nothing in it for him. I had these in closet for years with no idea of todays worth, was very pleased with outcome.

I am probably going to bid on something for my first time with Matthews Auctions and was wondering what people's experience is with shipping. Specifically, is it priced reasonably or is it a profit center?

Everything I've read sounds great about them and I'm looking forward to doing business with them.

Thanks,

Drew

I have had experience with Matthews Auctions shipping. They really try to pack so that you get the item with no problems. This may mean a custom-made wood box, double box or other special handling. Expect to pay a reasonable price to ship the item with the protective packing it requires.

Shipping costs always fair, items always packed well. Never a problem over dozens of purchases.
