What typical colors were the interior portions of a visible pump painted? Talking about the support rods and the pump mechanism.

Thanks,

Lee

Most that I have dismantled were rusty bare steel & would have made it easier for service guys to replace needed parts on.

We have usually painted them the same colors of the pump. On some instances we use silver grey. You can detail out the pump and other mech, but nobody will be able to see it unless you leave one side off. Usually no one does that.

It has been our custom to paint the interiors of all pumps flat black rustoleum. It males a clean finish and gives rust difficulty in forming. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Thanks guys. I wondered if they were not shipped bare given that there was not even a trace of paint anywhere. Interestingly enough, the skins were painted on the inside.

I like to be authentic, but I think I will stray from the rightous path and paint the interior.
