I have found two gas pumps. One is a TWIN, DOUBLE Gilbarco 96 series pump with the sight glasses in the face plates or a bennett 541 series with four ad glasses. Both are not rusted out and straight sheet metal. The problem is that i can only afford one at $600.00 each. I understand its personel preference, but i thought i would throw it out there to you fellow petro guys to get your opinion on your favorite one. Also is the price fair. Thanks from the Rainy N.W.

Price is fair on both. Personally I would take the 541. Its an older pump and alot neater pump in my opinion.

Yeah 541s are awesome!!! You won't regret buying one of them! Plus many brands used them

I have a pair of twins that are restored and while their always neat to look at I have always liked the 541's and think their one of the nicest electrics out there. So much so that I just bought one and pick it up this week.

Twins aren't all that common either and usually go for around a grand because their two pumps conjoined, but are costlier to restore. I'd grab the Bennett and try and get dibs on the second to buy at a later date if it's that fairly priced.

I have to admit the twins look great fixed up.
I have never been a fan of the twins but a local guy fixed one up in Sinclair and they look great!!!
The 541 are equally as nice tuff choice.
Keep us posted with some pix of your decision.

I would think the 541 would be easier to find at a later time so I would buy the 96 twin. I love the 541's though. Excellent price on both.

As far as which one is the oldest, they were both introduced in 1938.

To HECK w/ what we like, buy the one YOU LIKE.
Offer a $1,000 & maybe Buy them both, It's Easier to ask wife for Forgiveness than to ask her for extra $$$'s.
[does she ask every time she buys another pair of shoes?]
Restoring a Twin is no different than restoring 2 pumps & on some there are 2 Less Side panels.

but I always wonder....why does everyone announce to the world that they sent a PM? kinda takes the 'P' out of it!

why not just send a PM then it would be a little more 'P'

LOL!

I'd take the Twin for sure. It's hard to find twin pumps, 541's are easy to come by. Jeff

I am looking for Nice Condition Signs, Globes, Etc. from the Sinclair HC era and older for my Sinclair Station.
