What scrubber or product is out there that wont be eaten when using muriatic acid when cleaning rust stains off procelain signs? I use fine steel wool or a sponge with a scrub pad on the reverse side but they always dissolve even when rinsed out frequently.

I always use one of the small brass or copper brushes and yes they will eventually give out as well but they work well and are cheap

Be very cautious with ANY acid cleaning porcelain,,I have seen signs ruined using household cleaners of various kinds..Some porcelains are much harder than others and will take more abuse, the "softer" porcelain is much eaiser to damage..The kitchen sink cleaner, "Soft Scrubb" does a pretty good job of removing stains and seems fairly gentle to the porcelain

I've used Barkeepers Friend with great results. I typically wet the sign, sprinkle some on and work it into a paste. Then I let it sit for about 5-10 minutes and wipe off. For tough rust stains I'll wipe it with fine or very fine steel wool. Works wonders.
