I have a Fry 10gallon pump that I plan to restore. My question is the panel that opens to the inside has a latch that looks like a padlock is suppose to be there to secure it. Would this be normal for Fry pumps? Thanks Hugh

IF it is welded to door & body skin, YES.
IF it has been bolted on, original has been replaced, YES.
Selector handle was lowered to bottom [notch in door] & padlocked, Pump handle was also padlocked when closed for the night/day [not all that sold gas were open on Sundays or during church].

This doesn't look welded after, it looks original like it should be there. My next question would be what type of lock would they have used for the 20's Fry Pump? Thanks Hugh

Should have said SPOTWELDED.
Keep looking for a period correct padlock [search the internet for History of Padlocks].

Thanks Dick the pump skin looks original and in pretty good shape. I will look for a lock to go with it. Hugh

Many large pump companies made locks tht they supplied with the pump (Tokheim, National, etc.) but I have never seen a lock with GLM on it.

I did have a nozzle that had Fry on it, now long gone.
