Does anyone have pictures or ideas as to what is the best light socket and bulb to install in one of these?

Hopefully no need to do that, Dave...but what a nice offer.

Here's what I did on my wall mount lens display: I went to a good-sized hardware store and purchased a lamp socket that had a small on/off turn switch built into the base. The entire unit mounts with one hole. When you look at the bottom of the wall mount, all you see is the nice black turn switch knob sticking out and the knurled nut that holds it in position. I then drilled another small hole behind the switch/socket mounting hole, inserted a rubber grommet, and routed the A/C power cord through it.

I know guys will have lots of ideas for bulbs, but I used a 25w tubular incandesent bulb, which I also bought at the same good-sized hardware store. It is about 7" to 8" long (high), and disperses the light very nicely though the lens. I think the tubluar bulb is also available in a 40w version, but I was very happy with the 25w version.

Good luck on your project, Young's Union. Best, John
