On your 176's upper access door, is the horizontal notch for the lever to move in towards the top or bottom of that door?

I just joined this website today and had the same question in mind. I am pretty certain my pump is a G & B T-176 but I have not been able to figure out what year it was produced since the tin manufacter label was missing. Everything else including the storage arrow seems to be there though. Good luck!

Without the original ID plate w/ Serial # it is impossible to date your pump. With a picture WE MIGHT be able to say it was built between this & that. I'll post some pics after I read instructions Instructions are for women re; after you assembled something & have many parts left over, then the Wife proceeds to read you the instruction!

Here are a couple of pictures that might help. The 1st shows where the main plate is attached to the drainback pipe inside the pump. The 2nd shows the linkage attaching the pointer mechanism to the rod. The lever for the drainback isn't attached to the rod for the arrows in any way, it is simply blocked from moving to the drainback position by the rod.

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/3039/img5963ej.jpgThe URL above is a full picture of my 176 before I removed the skins to begin its restoration process. The one thing my pump is missing is the G & B tin nameplate so I am not sure when it was manufactured. Thanks for the help guys!

When using Image Shack [or other Image Hosting Sites], ALWAYS select the Link for Forums to Copy & Paste.

I am not seeing the option you mentioned "Forums to Copy & Paste". Is this in Image Shack or somewhere else? There is a "320x240 websites and email" option in the Image Shack dropdown list. Is that what you mean?

You have to select the "Forums" link, then copy that link. Then come to Oldgas and paste it in the reply box hit submit and your picture will be here for us to see.
