Hello All,
I meant to ask about these a lot sooner, but kept forgetting until I was looking at completed items. Ebay item 140790839999 .
I am not a pump guy really, so could someone please explain to me why this pair of light sockets sold for so much? Are they even a specific gas pump item? If I seen them somewhere I would probably have passed them by.
Thanks for any insight!
Darin

When restoring an old gas pump, the original light bulb sockets are usually very weathered or tared up from old sealer so most time you have to improvise using newer sockets and adapting them to your pump or using repops if available. That style in the auction are not repoped and are hard to make a new style work in their place so someone wanted them to make the restoration correct.

Thanks
Mike

Are those particular to any make/model? I know about that old black stuff....I had a heck of a time getting the wiring out of my Wayne 866 conduit with that stuff packed in there. I used a screwdriver to chip it out and pulled like heck to get the sockets out!
Thanks for the reply, certainly understand using correct parts, especially those that are not reproduced which helps me understand the premium they brought.

I have seen those in two different style Gilbarco pumps but they may have been used in others also.

Thanks
Mike
