Roving around today, I managed to find and buy two Gilbert & Barker grease pumps. I got a sweet deal too. One is complete, but with a bad face. The other, its twin, is incomplete, but has a good face. So, They should make one really nice restored greaser. Even the brass pistol grip unit is there.

My question is... Does anyone know when they were made? From the look of the faces, and the wooden handle I'm going to go out on a limb and say mid-20s. Can anyone confirm or comment? What about value? Just curious - value is not so important to me.

Here they are:

Thanks,
Wes

Thanks Thunder,

Sure am... There was a neat Bennett lubester there too with a mini-sight-glass on the side of its pump. The reason I didn't get it is that it was just too darn big. That's the only problem with getting this bug - a lack of space...

The only record I have of this "Greaseerver" (as Gilbert & Barker called them)is that they were for sale in 1936. It is a 25-pint and assuming it had all the goodies it sold for $23.33 new, and it came in red.

Thanks Jack,

After WD-40ing away more grease on the ID tags, I can see that they are indeed "Greaseervers." The two tags are printed in slightly different styles, so I know the pumps are of different ages.

If anyone out there has any literature to copy, I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks,
Wes
