It's a fake. These signs have been discussed numerous times before. Do an advanced search and you can read the previous threads.

The funny thing is these signs have been discussed on here time and time again but still bring a lot of money.....if the bids are real bids .....you think a serious buyer spending $$$$ on this would take some time and do some leg work!

Mobilgas Pegasus were wall hangers (for the most part).... This item was never meant to be hung on the wall of a Mobilgas Gas Station. If it were, there would be brackets on the back that would have attached to bolts that were on the Station facade...

There are some "Cookie Cutter T-53" Pegasus that are original... If you see a photo of one you will never be in doubt again....

The Mobilgas Pegasus that were NOT wall hangers.... Were/are extremely large as they were placed on the roofs of a few Gas Station designs... There were also neon Pegasus.... They were also larger....

If one is going to look for "high dollar items", whether Signs, Globes, Cans, Pumps etc... They should buy some of the guides and start reading!

A lot smarter to spend a few bucks on some guides than make a large $ mistake and buy a fake....

...you mean READ something? why bother, when you can just ask questions of people who own the books, or have acquired the knowledge over time, on Oldgas? confused

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
