I have no idea what kind of bolt this thing is, but we need one for the Fry 117 that we are going to work on after we finish the Erie 71. It's the only bolt that isn't there.
The threads are 5/16NC18
The head takes a 1/2" socket.
From the bottom of the head to the tip of the threads is 1"
Now the weird part -- the head on this thing is 5/16" thick, and it is rounded over on top.
Does anyone out there have one of these animals?

They were used on old cars also, if you cann't find one here check with some one that restores Model A's or T's. Richard

Man, I wish that was the case!
All we really have is a woodshop that doubles as a welding/autobody/paint and auto mechanic shop that can be converted to a paintbooth with 10,000 tarps spread around all over the place!
If we had a metal lathe, your're right, that would be a good project!

Those bolts have a name, which escapes me presently, and are currently being reproduced, but are expensive.They are used in antique auto restoration.
One of you cars guys help me out here...

There are 4+ collector/restores in Chey. & another in Pine Bluff that I know of, 1 of them is bound to have 1 of those Bolts.

I have some out of an old pump but mine measure 1" overall / 3/4" bottom of head to end of thread. 5/16 18 (coarse). They also have some oversize nuts on them. I probably have a dozen or so if it will help.

Someone on this site(in the last year) posted about a source of the rounded, thick headed bolts used on Fry pumps. They also gave the name of the bolts.They were expensive..4 or 5 bucks apiece. Any info would prevent me from losing what sanity I have left...THANKS in ADVANCE....Dave

They are called a (thick head or thickhead) not to be confused with someone's spouse -- but i looked under ford model T and they only have them 3/8 x l and Bing search couldn't really come up with anything for you/sorry
