Looking for a 1950's - 1960's Firestone self bordered sign. The white one with the red borderline trim in a 6' vertical sign. Embossed painted tin - die cut like the one shown below. PM if you have this or any other 6' tin or Porcelain Firestone sign.

You have a good eye Paul. That's one of those Argentina signs on eBay. Grabbed that picture to give an idea of the one I'm looking for, only the one I'm after is the embossed painted tin. Very similar to this one. My bud has one but he doesn't want to part with it. I should grab a picture of his and post it, as it's one I really want for my wall.

Now now...no need for sarcasm. smile

Nobody said they "know" the one pictured is perhaps fake, it was simply offered that in ones opinion, it is not "authentic". I have my doubts of it being real because there have been a lot of reproductions coming out of Argentina in recent times that have been made to look aged, and that particular sign is listed on eBay as a sign from Argentina, but being sold and advertised in the US with shipping from abroad. Suspect? Yes! Positive? No!

I myself wouldn't buy a porcelain sign from Argentina even if I thought it was real, but that's simply me. And again...just an opinion. smile

Last year I had the big 2 piece 50's Firestone store sign approx 14ft or thereabout that had the angular shape of the OP's picture, so would be a vertical version of the same in tin and could be in porcelain.

Bingo! Thank you Paul!

That's is the exact model and I believe it comes in all white with Red Lettering as well. I'd be happy with either version but that's the style and border I am after. I think the one my friend has is all white with red letters?

Thanks again for that linked image . Nice of you to post.

No sarcasn intended! Just pulling chains to get an answer. I wouldn't bid on that because of sellers location also but other than the back, the sign looks good to me so I was trying to find out if I was missing something that shouted repop!

Thanks

IMO Only larger horizontal firestone bowties were made in porcelain. I have never seen a vertical bowtie in porcelain. All have been sst. I could be wrong not my forte to new of a firestone sign for me.
