I finally got it finished. I left the rotation rate the same, so, it will look slow to those on here but to the average guy that will look at it here at home, won't know the difference. Just like they won't know it had been cut down and turned into a "Pig n a Poke" like Dick Bennett suggested. I finally got some time to make a video for "You Tube" and got it on there. I'm pretty happy with it even though I made mistakes here and there. Thanks to everyone on here for the education I gained on this project, never too old to learn. Now I got to make a BarStoolRacer and probably break my butt. Feel free to offer a I finally got it finished. Great looking pump. I'm doing the same thing with my Wayne 80. I have the motor all hooked up and was looking for a switch to install I to the nozzle. What did you use for the switch? Do you have a part number for it? Also, how did you do the air pump for the spinner? I thought about doing that but didn't know how to go about it. Any info will be helpful. Great question since I did not post any pictures of the details in the video, also since when the end got near I forgot about taking pictures.
However, I just took a couple pictures, one of the 2nd switch I bought just in case and one of the pump handle that can give you a good idea of how I did it.
Lets see if I can explain this.
The hard part will be making a small piece of aluminum the same diameter of the INSIDE of the pump handle and then cutting it down (lengthwise) to make a small half moon shape. The hunk of aluminum is the same length as the body of the switch.
On the flat part of the piece I tapped 5-40 holes so I could screw the switch to it. Then I plugged some wires around 5 inches long to the switch to use as a handle so I could slide the switch into the opening of the nozzle so the "finger" would contact the plunger of the pump and move with it when the handle pushed the rod up and down.
To locate the screw that goes in the nozzle, I measured how far the aluminum piece was from the butt of the nozzle, then added half the length of the aluminum to tell me where to drill the hole in the nozzle.
Once that hole is drilled, I pushed the switch and aluminum mount assembly back into the pump making sure the finger moved up and down with the handle action, you can hear a "click click" when it turns on and off.
Now that the assembly is located, I used the same drill thru the hole and gave it a couple of twists by hand to mark the aluminum. Take it all apart again and drill and tap the hole at the mark.
When everything else is done I run a long wire up thru the hose from the switch to where the power comes into the pump to make the connection.
Wow, typing all this out makes it sound complicated but it really isn't any different than wiring up a lamp.
The air pump is just one of those little pumps used to inflate a rubber raft (110V). I mounted that down in the bottom of the pump and wired it to the same place that feeds the switch in the nozzle.
I run some 1 1/2" PCV up to the original pipe that feeds the manifold for the spinners. It fits well enough that you don't even have to glue the PCV. I did have to bore out a PCV union to get it to fit the original pipe. The PVC slid right onto the outlet of the little pump.
