hi all

Another pump I did a while ago was this Gilbarco 1006 model (better known as a Salesmaker model in Australia) and got done in a late 1960's scene.

You can notice the pump differs to the US version with a 4 wheel calcometer and no reset handle below the visy gauge.. the face plates are flat not like the twin curved version I've seen the US pumps have.. The majority of these pumps hit the service stations in 1959-1960 but only a few had three wheel calcometers.

The person i did this for supplied me a ratty rusted ex-mobil pump but always wanted a shell pump in his backyard... luckily i found this original Shell 1967 magazine that had them pictured on the front..and as they say the rest is history . :-)

I was happy how it ended up and so was he.

cheers

Martin

Beautiful pump.

What's that red & white striped object between the 2 pumps on the island?...Says "Premium Outboard Motor Oil"..is that an oil can dispenser & is it attached to the gas pump?

Probably, dispenses outboard motor oil to be mixed in with the gasoline for 2 cycle outboards engines running premixed fuel.

thanks guys for the comments... much appreciate it.. ... got me stumped with the premium outboard motor oil dispensor... considering the boat in the photo, it must have been a surfcoast/bay service station and they wanted to sell it off regularly..
