I have an eco air meter that I am ready to put back together and I need a two wheel slot porcelain face plate. I know I can buy a reproduction for it but I would like a porcelain if I could find one. If anyone has one in good shape they could let go of pm me. The picture below is of the one that came out of mine and someone had placed black tape over the slot to cover it up.

I don't think a 2 slot porcelain face was originally available. Two number wheel mechanisms are newer and were only available with painted faces.

Dave G,
Wrong, two wheel unit have always been available. Two wheel units did not have the shotlengthener, and was only able to put out about 55 psi. With the SL, it was able to put out 110 psi, therefore needing a third wheel.

When I restore an ECO, I always make them three wheel. Very easy, just need a wheel and as clog, and I use reproduction faces, because I want them to look perfect.

Will check out my stack of used porcelain faces and see if I have a decent two wheel face. We also sell the wheel and the clog to make your unit three wheel and you could use the face you have.

Sorry, no decent two-wheel faces.

These ECOs were one of the most abused items in the station. First the owner had to buy something in order to give something away. When asked if he wanted the light, he thought now I have to run an electric wire, so no light. When asked if he wanted the water option, again, no, let them use the bucket.

Owner didn't bother to drain the meters, originals were cast iron and they rusted badly, then didn't work correctly. Most unit were not recalibrated.

Then the good old customer wouldn't bother to put the hose back on the hook (which shut off the meter) and if there was the smallest leak in any of he hoses or in the meter, the compressor would run all night.

How many customers just threw the hose in the direction of the meter and the chuck hit the glass and also chipped the porcelain face? And how many times was the hose either stolen or run over by the driver of the car?

It's amazing that so many have survived.
