Wondering if anybody has experience with this seller.

http://stores.ebay.com/nekbe-SIGNS-OF-THE-TIMES?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

He sells an awful lot and guarantees 'I DO NOT SELL REPRODUCTIONS'. A recent negative accused him of doing just that. Some of his stuff looks legit but a lot of his signs look like they could be fakes...and are hard to spot as they may not be dated. I've been comparing some of his signs to the PCM Resto guide and I still cant tell. Hoping somebody else can chime in.

The problem is his auctions say NO RETURNS so I wouldn’t trust him.... Any legitimate dealer who sells through the mail should have a return policy or they might be hiding something....

Very good point as the negative I saw mentioned the same thing. Hate to pass something up that may be legit, but its a risk for sure.

I have dealt with this seller many times. I also have been to his house. I believe his items are as he states. He goes to many auctions, flee markets, yard sales & shows to locate his stuff. JM2C smile

I believe people on this site have had issues before. I'd do a search on here for more info. Nekbe is/was a member here.

I did a search here and found some questionable feedback about him. What makes it more confusing is he seems to sell some legit stuff too so it makes it that much more difficult to sort it out. I noticed even a slight variation in the backround color on a sign can indicate a fake, but if a sign is legit, it can be faded and not exactly match the color exactly in the PCM guide's depiction of the same sign.

Most repop sellers mix in repops with legit items.

Someone who won't guarantee their items with a return isn't worth buying from anyways.

...I'm not defending the above seller...

...but it might just be that they just don't want to deal with wishy-washy buyers...I don't offer returns on my eBay auctions...I take lots of good, enlargeable photos and try to anticipate any and all questions when I write the description...I ask potential bidders to ask questions, if they have any...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I would agree with Mark, the amount of items this seller sells weekly it would be a pain to offer returns. Know what your bidding on before you bid. I have seen this seller at a couple of auctions I attended, and can only say he doesn't bid on any thing but orginal.

The fact is that you can "not offer returns" all you like on Ebay, but if the item isn't as described for any reason a buyer wants to cook up, all they have to do is open a claim & return it and 97 times out of 100 Ebay will side with them.

i have bought from him a few times, and is a good seller as far as that goes, do your research before you buy, most of his auctions are 7 days , plenty of time to research.

Because of how eBay has changed their return policy many sellers are opting on their auto listings to place a "no return" policy in place. It use to be that you could show a 7 day return policy, now that's been upped to 14 days. Essentially if someone finds a lower priced item they could return the item they bought for more.

Buyers still have the right to open a claim for items which do not match description even if the auction lists a "no return" policy.

If you have concerns ask the seller before you buy!

Remember, eBay isn't a retail store for many of the sellers, it's more like going to a local flea market or yard sale.

He's a buyer/seller that works on the law of average. He's educating himself via ebay. He just sells to sell and has no attachment to any of it. So when he buys something that he believes to be real, he sell it as such. He has bought stuff from me and I have bought from him. He has sold several reproduction items, but it does no good to tell ebay. He is an honest seller I believe, but I have been wrong before.

Seems a little odd this seller and "littleshanno" always list items at the same time...related?

I dont watch jeff's auction on ebay but I do know that at my auction, I cant remember him buying an repops, he probably has but who cares. Educate yourself and you will not buy repop's. Ask question and if in doubte do what Uncle Dick says "walk away". Just my two cents. Dan

We bought a few cans from him two arrived damaged due to poor packaging and never got him to respond to emails. Had to open a claim against him to get anything done.

It doesn't matter what business you are in. If you are someone who only cares about the sale and nothing else as evidenced by nekbe's lack of returned e-mails, poor packaging and he never leaves feedback. That is a very selfish business model based on an absolute disregard for the customer.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to do business with him? I also fail to understand; why any other reputable business that values their customers, would want to personally endorse him.

Nekbe's not dumb, he has been around the hobby long enough to know a reproduction from a real sign. So, when he sells a reproduction as an original...don't kid yourself, that it was a mistake. Crooks are driven by profit, whether you do it once in a while or everyday...you are still a crook.

How you treat others, after a sale....is the true measure of intent and integrity. Honest people are open to discussion and making a situation right. Crooks avoid discussion, they only want your money and don't care about you or what you get in return for your money. Transaction is complete when the "confirm & send" button is pushed on the payment page.

Not a stellar transaction or individual in my books. I call a spade a spade!
