Hello, I am a new member and am very excited to be a part of this site. I have restored soda machines, gas pumps, bike etc for over 30 years as a hobby in Texas. Below are pic of a 76 year old Sinclair station I just restored in my hometown of Snyder Tx. The station is located on its own trinagle city block and the building itself is a triangle. In process of obtaining a Texas Historical Marker. City had the station scheduled for to be destroyed before I purchased it. This was my first attempted at a restoration this size. There is another pump island and a 6ft HC sign on a number 9 pole at the point of the island not shown in this photo.
Thanks

Very nice, thanks for posting! Nice to see an old station saved and not torn down. I don't think "City Fathers" understand that saving something like this actually helps with tourism and makes a smaller city memorable to passers through. I don't think it would be a stretch to say that there are already tourists that drove through your town that haven't told someone else, "There's an old Sinclair station there you should really go see".

Jim, next time you see Wayne Henderson, remind him of all the unique and archecturaly signifigant service station examples we have here in Richmond Virginia . As Nicole can attest , she an her husband went on my "Not on the Chamber of Commerce tour " a couple of years back. I still run accros the Television reporter who told me I was "Crazy" to really want to restore a service station that's now someones residence in the eastern part of the city. Meanwhile , I'm collecting copies of building plans , old photographs , and anything I can from sources within City government on th remaining buildings here . With that information, I'm slowly building models in scale of these once shining treasures that thankfully aren't a Civil War artifact . Ed Shaver
