I came across these two items not too long ago & I am trying to figure out exactly what the pump piece would be off of & what it might be worth. Was told it might possibly be off of a Wayne 491 or 492 Roman pump. It's about 54" tall, just over 11" in diamter on the top && just over 13" on the bottom. They were both meant for garage art but thinking maybe if that is what it is off of it might be better off somewhere else. Thanks in advance!

It's for a 492 [hand operated pump], IF the 4 holes below the 2" hole [ID Plate, UL & Keep Stuffing Boxes Tight mount] were spaced around the hole [ so plate would cover hole], then it would be for a 491 Air Operated pump.
This item is NOT RE-POPPED & appears to be in almost EXCELLENT CONDITION. VERY HARD TO FIND.

To realize the most $,$$$ from your purchase, list on ebay & DO NOT END EARLY w/ a BUY IT NOW.

After listing them on e-bay, list on this site in on-line auctions for greater exposure.

Quote:
It's about 54" tall

Not THEY are....
I am assuming it's 3 pic's [2 enlarged] to show all sides & Condition.

Thanks Dick...exactly what I was looking for! It is in pretty nice shape overall, no dents, rot or other damage just surface rust as seen which has a little pitting. And I only have the one...I wish I had more, actually more so the whole pump! I am going to hang onto it for right now I just wanted to know exactly what I had & maybe just at least an idea of what someone might pay for it. Thanks again!

Pricing is tough for a piece like that. Generally it's not a piece that is missing from the pump, and it's not a piece you could realistically build a pump around. So you'd have a fairly limited number of people to sell to. That being said, on eBay or something similar, I would guess it would bring $500+/-. Possibly more if you had a couple of guys with rotted-out columns that were battling it out!

When a whole pump can go for upwards of $20,000.00, I think some one who needed/wanted original skins, might just pay more than $500.00 LMAO

These TUBES are 2 pcs of steel [inner is Galv] stamper then rolled & welded.
As evident in last picture, even Galv. will rust.
Anyone that has had to remove a Large Dent from a Bumper would Gladly pay some good $$$ just to keep from removing another!

Eons ago I bought a Tube at Pomona & was able to trade for parts [at the time] No One was making for the Roman.

You are right about the price, $1000.00. 9 years ago one was on ebay and my computer locked up, it went for $500.00 then and I gladly would have bid higher.

You got that right! I don't have one part for a Roman, but would pay a grand just to have that part in the back room. Maybe more. Ask Dice if they are fun to work on

I saw one at Iowa Gas several years back and the asking price was in the $4000 range. Vendor didn't have at show next year.

Wayne Roman Column pump is pretty high on my to get list. I would also buy this just to have as future insurance. I can see myself paying a lot more than $500.00 for this. I think in todays market on e-Bay that would bring $1500.00 +.
At the very least, I'd be going back to where ever that column was obtained from to see if any more of that pump can be located.
